Poder da Fé (Prayer Group)

Poder da Fé began with a simple but profound desire: to bring Brazilians in San Diego together around God’s Word and prayer in their heart language. Every Wednesday night, under the leadership of Marcelo Spinetti and Kelly Weidemann, the Brazilian community gathers in Scripps Ranch at New Break Church for worship, fellowship, and Scripture study. Since its launch in 2023, the group has grown into a spiritual family where faith, encouragement, and hope in Christ are shared amid the challenges of living far from home.

What started as a Bible study has become a movement of belonging and mission. Through prayer, conversation, and shared meals, Poder da Fé offers connection to those who had been disconnected from church or are seeking God in a new country. A recent partnership with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pacific Beach provides pastoral guidance, theological support, and a vision for growth—opening doors for new small groups, outreach, and deeper integration into the life of the Lutheran Church in San Diego.

Poder da Fé is a living testimony that when God plants seeds of faith, they grow into a tree under which many can find shade, rest, and community.
