In 2022, the foundation for Lutheran Mission Society San Diego was laid with a simple vision:

• Help congregations see the mission field right outside their doors.

• Place missionaries in neighborhoods where people need Jesus.

• Form partnerships between congregations and missionaries so that all are involved in God’s mission.

2023 was a year of learning, listening, and laying groundwork. Under the guidance of LINC SoCal, our Board of Directors refined our mission, vision, and values; strengthened our systems for communication and support; and began gathering missionaries and building relationships of trust with over 30 congregations in San Diego County.

We are grateful for the ongoing support of the Pacific Southwest District of the LCMS, and the guidance of LINC SoCal. Most of all, we give thanks to the pastors, leaders, congregations, and supporters who have welcomed us with open arms.

God has blessed our beginnings, but we’ve only just begun. As we move forward, we are:

• Growing missionaries, ministries, and partnerships already underway.

• Developing new opportunities for mission every day.

• Strengthening systems to support the work for years to come.

We invite you to join us in this adventure of faith. Together, by God’s grace, we can widen the welcome of the Gospel in San Diego.
