A Chinese Ministry Partnership at Victory
Something beautiful is beginning to take shape in Chula Vista.
What started as a simple sharing of space is slowly becoming something much deeper—a shared mission.
At Victory Lutheran Church, a new partnership has taken root with a Mandarin-speaking ministry, Glory Lutheran Church. But this is not just about two congregations using the same building. It is about learning to walk together. To listen. To serve side by side. To discover what it means to be the Church together in a diverse and growing community.
There is still much to learn. The partnership is young, the path is being discerned step by step. And yet, already, there are signs of grace—moments of connection, shared laughter, prayers offered across languages, and a growing vision for discipling children, youth, and adults together.
We give thanks for the faithful leadership at Victory under Pastor Tim Gerdes and his team, and for Pastor Andy and the dedicated leaders from Glory—their deaconesses, vicar, and lay leaders—who are embracing this journey with humility and courage.
Please keep this partnership in your prayers. That it would not simply be a practical arrangement, but a living witness of the unity we have in Christ. That through this collaboration, many would be reached, welcomed, and formed as disciples.
The story is just beginning—and it is already worth telling.
