A kingdom of friends
The Kingdom of God is a kingdom of friends and it grows through relationships.
In Jesus’ Church, leaders are not manufactured — they are cultivated in the soil of community, prayer, and shared mission.
At the Lutheran Mission Society San Diego, we live at the intersection of relationships:
between missionaries and congregations
between pastors, church workers and local leaders
between seasoned servants and entrepreneurial leaders seeking permission, opportunity, and guidance to follow their God-given calling.
Our role is to facilitate encounters where the Spirit can work — encounters like the one pictured here, with Marcelo and Kelly (new missionaries in San Diego) sharing life and building trust with Pastor Nathan and Lindsay (new pastor of a local Lutheran congregation and his wife and partner in mission).
It’s in these simple, relational spaces — a meal shared, a story told, time spent together — that God grows His Church and equips His people for mission.
The solution is relational. Always has been. Always will be.
