Campamento Juvenil 2025

This August 30, Iglesia Luterana Sola Gracia, Sola Fe in Tijuana was filled with joy, energy, and faith as nearly 20 youth gathered for a youth retreat (Campamento Juvenil) under the theme Walking with Purpose.

Led by missionary Elisabeth Martínez, this retreat created a space for young people to learn, grow, and strengthen their walk with Christ. Together, they explored deep questions of the Christian faith, sharing time in worship, prayer, and fellowship.

Workshops throughout the retreat were led by missionaries connected to the Lutheran Mission Society San Diego:

Gustavo Valderrama shared a heartfelt message about the saving work of Jesus Christ for us all.

Gustavo Rubén Valderrama (his son) encouraged the youth to hold firmly to the truth and the purity of the Gospel.

Teresa Fortuna guided participants in the practice and power of prayer.

Pastor Tardelli Voss, missionary director, spoke on making decisions with purpose.

Jonathan López, a new friend of our mission society and member of the local church, led a workshop in music and praise.

The retreat’s special guest was Pastor José Villalobos, LCMS pastor in Los Angeles originally from El Salvador, who shared God’s Word in a powerful way, encouraging and inspiring all who were present.

Over two days, these youth not only learned but also experienced the beauty of Christian community—supporting one another, growing in their faith, and discovering what it means to truly walk with purpose.

We give thanks to God for Elisabeth’s leadership, for every missionary and guest who poured into these youth, and for the faith that was planted and nurtured in Tijuana this weekend.

Please join us in praying for these young men and women—that they continue walking with Christ, with courage and conviction, into the future He has prepared for them.
