Missionary Sending Sunday in Oceanside

This past weekend was a special moment in the life of our churches and the Lutheran Mission Society San Diego. Elders Jake Jackson and Bill Nielsen were sent out with prayer and blessing as missionaries to serve in outreach ministries at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) and Camp Pendleton.

Pastor Michael Hansen of Immanuel Lutheran, Oceanside, led the prayers of blessing, making this public act of sending a moment for the whole congregation to affirm and support these men in their calling. Together we ask for the Spirit’s guidance and protection as Jake and Bill share Christ’s love among military members and their families.

Present for this milestone were Mission Society director Rev. Tardelli Voss and board president Dave Lindsey, who joined in laying hands and calling on the Lord to bless these new missionaries.
