Vicar Gustavo Assists at Ash Wednesday Service

On March 5, our missionary, Vicar Gustavo Valderrama, had the honor of assisting Pastor Mike Beyer during the Ash Wednesday service at St. James Lutheran Church in Imperial Beach. This special service marks the beginning of the Lenten season—a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal for Christians around the world.

As you can see in the photos, Vicar Gustavo joined Pastor Beyer in leading the congregation through the liturgy, readings, and the imposition of ashes. It was a powerful reminder of our need for God’s grace and the hope we find in Christ’s sacrifice.

We’re thankful for this partnership in ministry and the opportunity to serve alongside St. James, sharing the Gospel and strengthening our fellowship in the community.
