Welcoming Missionary Partners into Our Lutheran Worship

On Sunday, February 23, the Lutheran Mission Society San Diego (LMSSD) had the privilege of accompanying a missionary family to worship at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Many of the missionaries we meet in San Diego come from diverse Christian traditions. As we build relationships with them, we often invite them to experience worship in one of our Lutheran congregations.

Because LMSSD is committed to serving within the Lutheran confession and strengthening Lutheran congregations, we create opportunities for these missionaries to witness our liturgy, hear the Word preached in its fullness, and engage with our rich theological heritage.

These visits help discern whether partnering in mission with us aligns with their calling and convictions. It’s not about recruitment, but about mutual discernment, hospitality, and faithful witness.

We pray that God would use these moments to deepen understanding, strengthen His Church, and guide all who are seeking a faithful place to serve and grow in His grace.
