New conversations regarding Military ministries

This morning, we had a meaningful and productive meeting with Deacon Mark Kunkee (Marine Corps veteran and longtime church servant), Michael Morabe, serving as a CRU military missionary, Pastor Rick Stark (Trinity Lutheran Church), and the Lutheran Mission Society San Diego.

We shared our backgrounds and current ministry work, with a specific focus on military and law enforcement outreach in the San Diego area.

The conversation helped us begin exploring what a collaborative partnership could look like moving forward — particularly in the areas of military chaplaincy, spiritual care, and support for service members and their families.

We’re taking time to evaluate next steps, and we’re looking forward to what may develop from this connection.
